It's now a shortcut button for the Start screen or desktop and some don't like that. Just like the introduction of the mouse, innovations like this do not happen without new OS support, new apps, and new hardware. I don't see what people are complaining about. Metro isn't even designed for mice. The more things change (The shitty Metro UI crap), the more things stay the same (Microsoft fanbase bringing back the start button themselves).
