Yes, the modem and computer are communicating every 5 minutes ANDt your modem does actually have routing characteristics. SUCH AND SUCH but there is no IP ADDRESS. I cannot access the hyper-v host management applet from this Windows 7 workstation, unless I turn off the firewall on this machine. That's the real issue...What makes you think it's SPAM? That is not my area of expertise though, so I'm not sure how having your own domain would change anything. I'm just trying to get some diofferenmt perspectives.Specifics- I use an HP Desktop with Vista Home Premium 32 bitwith Vista service pack updated. I am not aware that it could involve Samba, either. As Linc has pointed out, it's a legit part of the OS, and Norton is (stupidly, IMHO) blocking it from doing its job. All good there.Now, in Norton Firewall log - I can see incoming and outgoing connections via Windows File Sharing/nmbd.
